CURRICULUM

The learning goals and the educational approach of the curriculum at Mars1 are created such that it meets the social, emotional, physical, and cognitive goals of every learner. Young learners learn best through hands-on activities and Mars 1 has created various learning centres towards that end. The learning centres of Mars1 provide activities that are instructive and experiential and go a long way towards the overall development of our learners.

Art Centre

The art centre is a creative space and outlet for our astronauts. Using the various types of materials made available to them at this centre, our learners express their emotions and ideas through their artistic creations. This centre also helps improve hand-eye coordination and develop fine motor skills.

Language/Literacy Centre

The language/literacy centre is a quiet space that gives access to a variety of books and learning tools to our learners using which they hone their reading, writing and comprehension skills. This centre helps our learners to improve their vocabulary, explore their interests, investigate and express their ideas, and learn more about the world around them.

Discovery Centre

The discovery centre brings the outdoors into the classroom and provides our astronauts with opportunities for self-paced explorations of concepts connected to nature and science. This centre includes a weather station using which, our learners make daily observations of the weather and actively learn about climate and other aspects of weather. The discovery centre helps our learners understand the connection between them and nature, and forges a strong bond between them.

Math Centre

The math centre focuses on developing fine motor skills and improving the understanding of basic math concepts, both very important milestones for our young learners. This centre not only lays the foundation for the advanced math concepts that our learners will grow up to learn, but also allows them to improve their coordination, problem-solving skills, counting, and sorting skill, number sense, and patterns and shapes identifying skills.

Geo Centre

The geo centre opens up the world to our learners by teaching them about other countries, their people, their customs, their cultures, their celebrations and their flags as their national symbol. It also helps our astronauts understand their environment through explorations using sensory play.
